Hello,
I just registered in the hopes someone here can lend me a hand.

I actually feel stupid asking this, as I grew upwards in a shop and rebuilt just about everything..........

Where is the fuel filter located?
I have traced the lines from the tank to the carb several times, dorsum and forth on a few different occasions. Even to the point of physically touching the line all the fashion to make sure my eyes weren't tricking me.

Looking at the filter its obvious it sits in a bracket, has two lines - ane in, i out, in a Five configuration.

I called toyota and they said its right past the tank, trust me I accept looked and looked. Tin somone please tell me exactly where its located? Picture maybe?

I am starting to recollect either its on top of the tank or my truck for some reason doesn't have one.

Thanks,
-Jeremy

If it is like my 84, and according to the 85 FSM I have, it is, then the fuel filter is about halfway back forth the outside of the fuel tank, tucked up in a crevace simply in front of the fuel filler pipe.

dude, I have a fuel injected 85 22re and its on the rider side, its under the intake and plenum fastened to the cake somewhere actually close to the starter. You have to remove the starter to remove the filter and its a huge hurting in the donkey. I changed out mine while the engine was out of the truck. I didn't pull it for this reason, but I could tell information technology would be a bitch trying to get it out any other fashion. Not sure if this helps, I'll cheque pirate for you if your not a member.

The word "carb" in his message should tell you that it's not EFI.

If the fuel filter is there, information technology's on top of the tank, near the front, just frontwards of the filler connexion. Expect thru the wheel arch, lift upward the rubber fender liner, you should be able to see information technology. If it's not there, so the PO removed it.

My 86 carbed truck had it on the passenger frame right about where the cab and bed met... standard cab that is... HTH.

Lamentable, must accept overlooked "carb" in the message. I searched some more than final dark and institute everything that KLF said. Good luck.

Thanks

I found it.
judging past the mode the lines leave the front of the tank I thought it would have been up in that location.

Information technology's covered with route grime but I got it, now I just hope the hoses aren't brittle . :)

Cheers again.

Where did you observe it? If its 22re, it'll be where frty6&2 said. Although I didn't have to remove the starter to change out mine.
